Course content
Develop the practical workplace skills employersin the H&SC sector are looking for. Course will include the following:
Person-Centred Practice & Communication
Adult Support & Protection
Infection Prevention & Control – PPE, hand and food hygiene
Medication Awareness
Dementia, Neurodiversity and Learning Difficulty Awareness sessions
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion – values-based care aligned with SSSC Codes of Practice
Emergency First Aid at Work (SQA-accredited)
Lone Working & Personal Safety – risk management, de-escalation and personal boundaries
Sustainability and Green Skills – understanding the environmental impact of care practice
CV update and mock interviews based on employer's job specification
Support to apply for jobs with selected employer (Care Support Scotland)
This course is available to the City of Edinburgh residents, aged 18 or over, with the Right to Work in the UK, not in full-time education, confident in using English (at least intermediate level).
