Workplace Skills for Banking Academy - starts on 22nd of June 2026
JobFit is open for referrals to: Workplace Skills for Banking Academy including, accredited certificates and an opportunity of the short work-placement after the course with interviews for Modern Apprenticeship with NatWest (Business Admin and Finance Service roles) as well as other live jobs with selected employers within Business/Admin Sector. Other progression options to volunteering, further education or other industry specific training are also possible following the training. The training is delivered by Direct Partners.

2 weeks training delivered as a blended mix of face to face at Edinburgh based premises and remote sessions 9:30-3pm each day. Both group & 1-1.
Sessions will include: Employer expectations - Job roles & environments; Teambuilding & developing new professional relationships; Personal development, psychometric testing; Meta-skills development; Communication (including over the phone); Working with others; Customer care; GDPR practice and regulations; Introduction to PPT, Excel and Microsoft Teams.
CV development & support with online applications.
Interview preparation including competency-based interview techniques and STARR (Situation Task Action Result & Reflection)
Net Zero workshop: activities to address the candidate’s digital footprint, their roles and responsibilities to contributing to making Edinburgh a Net Zero city 2030.
This course is to give individuals the best opportunity to complete training and apply for a job with our partner employers and develop a career in Business Admin and/or Financial Service role. Our course helps individuals demonstrate the required skills and attitudes for the job both through application and interview stages as well as accredited learning.
Additional support is available for those who face challenges with progression to employment due to mental health, learning difficulties or participants not engaging in education training (NEET) with tailored delivery that matches participant goals and employer needs.

*Candidates can complete higher/lower levels of qualifications as well as additional themes dependant on their initial assessment, personal training, and objective plan
This course is available for Edinburgh residents only, aged 16 or over, with the Right to Work in the UK, who are either unemployed or facing in-work poverty and have barriers to employment and are not in full-time education; must be confident in using English.
